If you are trying to send E-Mail and get socket errors from your E-Mail client, go into your account settings within your E-Mail client, and set your SMTP port to port 26 instead of port 25.
Some ISPs will filter port 25 to prevent spam, so we have opened port 26 for SMTP access to help keep E-Mail open to all customers.
However, if you are an Earthlink subscriber, you will need to use the Earthlink SMTP servers for sending E-Mail due to their filtering of port 26. If you have difficulty figuring this out -- send a support ticket to our department.
